solving our ever-increasing water problems is apparently easy. here’s a place where you can know all about it. Hemant had this idea for sometime but we didn’t have the correct photo we needed. one day i just found this among some of my old forgotten photos(shot in Bundi). The rest, as they say, is photoshop. 2004. Saatchi & Saatchi, New Delhi. other credits: Hemant Anant Jain
a part of the rural population living in the cities. some forced, some more than happy, to share the urban jungle with us. most of these photos have been shot in different places in India and Nepal. the lion was in a small cage in a corner of a wildlife park outside Harare, Zimbabwe. the three pairs of horse legs were in Rome. rest of the series here.
press campaign for a polo tournament. did the illustrations myself(lack of budget, as always). the artworks were ready to be sent to the publications a few days before the event, when the news arrived that there was a virus outbreak, the horses fell sick and the event was canceled. 2005. Ogilvy, New Delhi. copy: Suchitra Gahlot. published in Luerzers' Archive.
Jupiter, Venus and Moon send a text message on December 1st. shot these from the Old Fort in Delhi. emperor Humayun died after he fell from the steps of his library(3rd pic). apparently he was watching Venus when he got distracted and lost his footing. the last photo is a combination of 30 shots taken everyday for a month (from the same place and time of the day) showing the movements of the planets and moon over a period of a month before the smiley. this was an experiment done by a dedicated group of amateur astronomers from Delhi, which i was a part of.
